HIGH-SPEED STEEL
High-speed steel main features are high hardness, wear resistance and toughness.
High-speed steel is used in the production of machine tools such as drills, cutters, turning tools or taps. Typical desired properties of this steel are high hardness when heated, wear resistance and toughness. These parameters give the cutting tool edge a longer life expectancy and prevent damage during machining. Powder metallurgy is used in the production of high-speed steel for high-performance tool.
